Luzo Readers Vote: World's Best Stadiums!
There's nothing more exciting than being seated in a jam-packed stadium watching your favorite team play. Your adrenaline is pumping just as if you were the one actually up on the field, as thousands of fans are screaming fanatically. Sure beats watching the game on TV! Being at the stadium is a whole lot different of an experience, especially when the stadium is one of the best of its kind.
So here you have it, Luzonet Readers! Here's your votes for the choice of the Best World Stadiums from the Luzonet Online Web Poll. Thanks for voting! Here's how the results tally up:
#5 Estadia da Luz - Lisbon, Portugal
Ok all you Sporting and Porto fans, we're not saying that Benfica is a better team .. they just have a bigger and better stadium . With over 65,000 seats, this stadium has just been renovated this year to host the EuroCup. The Final Game of the EuroCup 2004 will be played here. It's no wonder this amazing stadium rounded out the top 5!

#4 – Estadio Azteca - Mexico City, Mexico
This stadium is world-famous, and is the only stadium in the world to host not one, but two World Cup Finals, in 1970 and 1986. Built in 1966, the stadium has a capacity of 115,000, which is pretty easy to fill considering the mass population in Mexico City, and the percentage of radical soccer fans there.

#3 – The New Wembley Stadium - Wembley, England
Construction has begun on the New Wembley National Stadium, and will have a capacity of 90,000. This new stadium will have a long, steel arch 133 meters tall. Construction plans are made to have a sliding roof for those dark and shadowy days in England. What's even better is that the seating is bowl-like, with no separate “levels” to give everyone equal opportunity for full game-watch enjoyment.

#2 -- Nou Camp (L'Estadi Camp Nou) - Barcelona, Spain
This amazing stadium was featured in our magazine last year. It's the biggest stadium in Europe, and one of the biggest in the world. The stadium has a capacity of 93,000, although it's been known to hold 118,000 fans. Home to the F.C. Barca team, the stadium has been remodeled to include a chapel, a VIP lounge, Press Room, and Presidential Boxes. Ranked a “five-star stadium”, it's one of the best stadiums in the world to see a match. Nou Camp hosted some games of the World Cup in 1992, and the Olympic Games in 1992 for the football. It's so popular and grandioso that even the Pope had performed a mass before 120,000 in Camp Nou. Now that's a stadium!

#1 – Maracona Stadium – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This stadium is your biggest stadium in the world, so it's no wonder it was ranked #1 in our reader's poll. The official world record attendance for this stadium is 199,854 people, which was during the 1950 World Cup Final. It was built in 1950, and has since been a world sport landmark. It really should be considered the 8 th Wonder of the World. Unfortunately much of the stadium is closed due to its need of construction, and hopefully renovations will be made to restore it to its glory as it's in a serious need of repair.
